Vintage Wooden Handle Corkscrew ~ The Welch Grape Juice ~ Westfield, New York
Are you a collector of vintage corkscrews? This is a very cool look with the wood handle and metal corkscrew. Not sure if it works (I like the electric wine bottle openers).
This Corkscrew is referred to as a "Self-Puller with a bell". In 1883, William Bennit designed a small inversed cup or bell, fixed to the shank above the worm. The "bell" is hollow so there is room for the cork to be drawn into the "bell" and be partially removed.
Measurements: Wood Handle 3 5/8" Wide x 5 1/2" Length (from top to tip of metal)
Not sure of age, guessing 1940's.
